What we process

Only what you enter into a form: name, email address and, if you complete them, company name, telephone number and the text of your message. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies on this site.

Purpose and legal basis

To answer your enquiry and record that you contacted us. The basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and the firm's legitimate interest in tracking enquiries (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Where an engagement arises, processing is also governed by the rules applicable to the practice of law.

Who has access, and who we share data with

Those members of the firm who need it in order to reply. Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc., USA) and the operator of our internal enquiry-handling system act as processors. For a China-related enquiry, colleagues in our Shanghai office may also see the relevant data in order to help answer it; this is a transfer outside the European Economic Area, based on the necessity of taking steps prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Article 49(1)(b)). We do not pass personal data to advertisers.

Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling on this website that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

Analytics

If enabled, we use privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics that does not build an individual profile and is served from our own domain.

Retention

If an enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we keep the data for up to one year and then delete it. Where an engagement arises, the retention periods under professional and accounting rules apply, typically several years.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you may object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Complaints may be made to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, https://naih.hu) or to a court.
